“Process is about developing, building, facilitating, and following; the artwork is a metaphor for that relationship. Both process and product contain complex layers of meaning, of learning, of emotion, of politics of relationships, of experience merging and emerging through words imagery and symbol.”
Darlene E. Clover 97
The field of participatory, socially engaged, dialogical arts practice is complex, hence the need for such a range of terminology. Tramway and Arches are keen to support the development of practitioners working in this field through dialogue and events. This first open forum will use Open Space technology putting creative practitioners at the centre of future developments. This is an open invitation to all artists, makers, and academics whose work crosses this area. This conference without keynotes will benefit from the contribution of significant producers whose work has evolved the field working alongside new and emerging artists.
